Marvin Tanag, M.D., PhD, DPBS
Dr. Marvin Tanag (tan-yag) first clocked four years of undergraduate study with a degree in Medical Technology at FEU-NRMF. After earning his bachelor's degree, he attended four years of medical school in the same institution, spent a year of internship at Veterans Memorial Medical Center and then spent five years as a general surgeon at Quezon City General Hospital where he served as Chief Resident on his last year of residency.Soon thereafter, he was awarded a state scholarship in japan where he pursued some of the most advanced plastic surgery training possible. He has gone through 5-year fellowship in plastic and reconstructive surgery at Osaka University where he also obtained a Ph.D. degree in Molecular Medicine (Medical Science). On top of these, he has also written scholarly publications in world-renowned journals, among them, the prestigious Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (PRS); and has given international presentations in the annual conventions of some of the more prominent societies in the field.

In private practice, Dr. Tanag spends much of his time reshaping the faces and figures of both famous and not-so-famous. The good doctor's great satisfaction lies in the happiness and success stories of his patients. To him, giving patients a new outlook on life is very fulfilling.
"We have a mental image of ourselves which is vital to our emotional and physical well being. Plastic surgery can allow us to keep this healthy mental image we have of ourselves despite the effects of childbirth, aging, and gravity."
As he continued:
"We all want to look and feel our best. I have seen people who feel that their outward appearance does not reflect their inner beauty and vigor, and that alone can give a negative impact on self-esteem, energy, and general well being; and while plastic surgery is not right for everyone, there are certain people who can benefit significantly. These people often come away from their aesthetic surgery procedures with a new outlook on life, increased levels of energy, and a profound improvement in their self-confidence."
But plastic surgery is still surgery, which always involves risks.

"I am very selective of the procedures I perform. I must be convinced that a procedure is safe, effective and beneficial to my patient before I perform it."
